Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov arrived on a visit to Ashgabat


Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, at the head of the official delegation of the government of St. Petersburg, arrived on an official visit to the capital of Turkmenistan.
As the Smolny press service clarified, in Ashgabat the head of the Northern capital will meet with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The parties will discuss issues of cooperation in the economic, humanitarian and social spheres, as well as projects that St. Petersburg companies are implementing in this country, spbdnevnik.ru reports.
“Our cooperation is fully consistent with the policy of deepening strategic partnership and the agreements that were reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov,” Alexander Beglov noted.
Also, as part of the visit, meetings are planned with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and other officials.
In addition, the governor of St. Petersburg will visit the new city of Turkmenistan - Arkadag. During the meeting with the city khyakim Shamuhammet Durdylyev, a cooperation agreement will be signed between the government of St. Petersburg and the mayor's office of the city of Arkadag.
Alexander Beglov will meet with residents of besieged Leningrad living in Turkmenistan. On Monday, a foundation-laying ceremony of the “Friendship” monument will take place in Ashgabat. The monument will be erected as a sign of gratitude to the Turkmen people, who welcomed the residents of besieged Leningrad during the war.
The visit program also includes a visit to infrastructure facilities built in Turkmenistan by the St. Petersburg company “Vozrozhdenie”.
