The law on bloggers came into force in Kazakhstan

The new law, which came into force in Kazakhstan on Saturday, September 9, establishes the rights and responsibilities of online platforms and bloggers. In particular, along with existing criminal liability, administrative liability is being introduced for the dissemination of false information online.
They plan to introduce the national language into the interfaces and moderation of online platforms. This will allow social network algorithms to moderate content in the Kazakh language, tengrinews.kz. writes.
Also, owners of online platforms will be required to cooperate with government agencies in the fight against false information and tax evasion.
Kazakhstani bloggers who place advertisements on their pages on social networks will have to officially register as entrepreneurs.
To do this, a requirement is introduced to establish a program to determine the number of users of a given resource on the Internet and to appoint a legal representative who interacts with the local authorized body.
If illegal content is found on online platforms, the legal representative will be notified to remove it. If this requirement is not met, the authorized body has the right to restrict the activities of the online platform.
Also, users of Internet sites are required to label online advertising placed on their pages and, in general, conduct their activities in accordance with the Business Code.
