Three artistic dogs soloed in Mozart Sr.'s Hunting Symphony to the accompaniment of the Danish Chamber Orchestra at the Haydn Festival in Copenhagen. An unusual surprise, which was arranged by the musicians of the composition, brought a "fresh" touch to the world of classical music with established traditions and delighted the festival audience, euronews reports.

In the little-known work of Leopold Mozart, father of Wolfgang Amadeus, his so-called "Hunting" symphony, dogs are given a prominent and important role as soloists. However, the piece is rarely performed with dogs on stage, usually orchestras prefer to use recorded sound.

The four-legged "artists" Sophus, Kuki and Sika barked melodiously in time with the orchestra during the performance of the composition, and the rest of the time they remained completely calm. For a worthy performance on stage, talented dogs have undergone three months of training in order to learn not only to bark on command, but also not to interfere with other musicians during the performance of the piece. The animals calmly listened to the first parts of the symphony, and then took their place in front of the string orchestra to perform their parts.

Tailed musicians were selected during an open audition. The invitation to the competition stated: “Your pet must have undergone basic training in order to be present at the audition, that is, it must be able to follow basic commands. If the dog is selected, it will be trained so that it can start and stop barking on command.” The owners went to rehearsals with their animals and generously handed out treats to them to make them bark at the right time.
