Turkmen scientists took part in the International Scientific and Technological Forum in Tokyo
Representatives of the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan took part in the international conference "Science and Technology for Sustainable Development 2023", which was held on September 7-8 in Tokyo. The forum was organized by the Scientific Council of Japan and brought together experts from various countries of the world.
In the speech of the Turkmen delegates, the innovative experience of the country was presented on the example of the construction of the "smart" city of Arkadag, in which high technologies and eco-friendly approaches were introduced, which corresponds to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As a result of the event, the "Tokyo Statement 2023" was adopted. In particular, the participating countries of the international conference separately noted the need to increase investments in the improvement and digital transformation of cities, according to the information of the Turkmen Embassy in Japan on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is also said that the Scientific Council of Japan highly appreciated Turkmenistan's efforts aimed at achieving the SDGs through an innovative transition with a multi-level management strategy.
The diplomatic mission recalled that as part of the implementation of the Agreement on Technical Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and Japan, joint research is being conducted with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to improve the seismological monitoring system in Ashgabat and its environs."
