Turkmenistan and Portugal are aimed at expanding cooperation in the trade and economic sphere


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Portugal (with residence in Paris) M. Charyev presented his credentials to President of the Portuguese Republic Marcel Rebelo de Souza. During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed best wishes and success on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The parties expressed their mutual desire to further expand interstate cooperation in priority areas of Turkmen-Portuguese cooperation. And the day before, Maksat Charyev presented copies of his credentials to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Francisco Ribeiro Telles.
During the meeting, the head of the foreign policy department said that Portugal is open to expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in various fields, and highlighted the trade and economic sphere as one of the priorities in this context. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of a friendly country called on Turkmenistan for active interaction within the framework of international organizations.
The Turkmen diplomat spoke about the conditions created in the country for the work of foreign companies and expressed his desire to see Portuguese companies among the participants in investment projects in Turkmenistan.
In this regard, the parties considered the possibility of organizing a business forum with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries. To intensify the political dialogue, it was decided to hold consultations in the near future between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Portugal.
