Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to prepare proposals for the expansion of air services


In January-August of this year, the growth rate of cargo transportation by all modes of transport in Turkmenistan amounted to 106.2%, and passenger transportation – 104.6%.
In the sectoral context, civil aviation has the highest indicator – 245.9%. It is followed by the motor transport segment - 117.7%. Then, with a minimum separation from each other, there are railways - 107.2% and waterways – 107.1%. Turkmensvyaz agency also has a good rating – 111.8%.
In general, over the past eight months of the year, the growth rate of the volume of completed works and services in general for the Agency of Transport and Communications of Turkmenistan amounted to 123.8%. Such figures were announced by the Director General of the department Mammethan Chakyev at a government meeting on Friday.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, giving instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister for the transport and communication complex, instructed to prepare new proposals for expanding the geography of international air services, increasing the frequency of regular flights abroad, improving electronic services for the purchase of air tickets.
The Head of state also drew attention to the need for more active promotion of digital platforms in the process of cargo transportation by road, sea and rail and pointed to the prospects for full-scale use of the capabilities of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.
