Turkmenistan and UNESCO have outlined plans for a number of joint events


The interaction between Turkmenistan and UNESCO and its prospects were discussed at a meeting between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Director General of the UN agency for education, science and culture Xing Qu on Tuesday in Paris.
During the talks, the parties outlined plans to hold a number of joint events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to UNESCO, as well as in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
“It was noted the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2021 between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO for 2021-2023, as well as the Framework Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO of 2015 on the establishment of a trust fund, for the implementation of which it was reached an agreement to develop a joint action plan,” according to a press release from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The interlocutors confirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, both in the scientific and educational line, and in the field of popularization of the national cultural heritage.
