Turkmenistan and Japan are interested in joint training of technological personnel
The prospects of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation were discussed during the meeting on Tuesday by the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Japanese University of Tsukuba Nagata Kyosuke.
It should be noted that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a working visit to Japan in March 2015, was awarded the title of honorary Doctor of the University of Tsukuba for assistance in the international training program on mutual exchange in the field of education and research.
During the current meeting, the dynamics in expanding the list of cooperation agreements between higher education institutions of the two countries was noted. In this context, the interaction between the University of Tsukuba and the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammad Azadi was noted. There is interest in activating systemic contacts with the Oguzhan University of Engineering and Technology, including in terms of joint scientific research.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Nagata Kyosuke discussed the exchange of experience and the training of teachers in teaching the Japanese language in Turkmenistan and the Turkmen language in Japan. According to their common opinion, such cooperation is relevant in connection with the expansion of knowledge-intensive industries in Turkmenistan and the interest of large Japanese businesses in promoting in the Turkmen market.
In this regard, we can recall the projects already implemented with the participation of Japanese partners: the polymer plant in Kiyanli is the largest gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, the world's first plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in Ahal.
As noted, Turkmenistan, as a state with huge reserves of hydrocarbons, is interested in increasing cooperation with Japanese companies with advanced technologies in the oil and gas and gas chemical industry. Other promising areas are hydrogen production, the field of high technology, ecology and environmental safety, esports, etc.
An important role belongs to inter-parliamentary relations, which were given impetus by the meeting of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament Hosoda Hiroyuki at the end of September 2022 as part of the national leader's working visit to Japan.
During the conversation, the President of the University of Tsukuba noted that he had read with great pleasure Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's book "Ömrümiń manysynyń dowamaty", which also mentions modern Turkmen-Japanese relations, and expressed a desire to translate this work into Japanese, which will serve to further rapprochement and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
