The world's first symphony concert of artificial intelligence will take place in Russia

The symphony for artificial intelligence will be performed for the first time in the world on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater. The concert for AI will take place on September 10 as part of the cultural program of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) in Vladivostok. A message about the upcoming event is published on the website of the Roscongress Foundation.
The neural network from the Sber SymFormer, accompanied by a Large Symphony Orchestra, will perform symphony No. 1 entitled "Cosmos", which was written by the Russian composer, accordion virtuoso and conductor Peter Dranga. The musician suggested the neural network to rethink the composition, changing and supplementing it. Thus, artificial intelligence co-authored the work.
"Composing has been the basis of my creative path for many years, and I see the Cosmos Symphony as a unique attempt to combine the capabilities of artificial intelligence and human technologies for good. This moment is very close, so now is the ideal time for such an experiment, the main thing is to approach everything with a kind and open heart," the words of Peter Dranga are quoted in the message.
The Cosmic Symphony is written in a classical structure and consists of four movements. In the first two, virtuoso musicians from China will be soloists, and the neural network model of the SymFormer Simulator with the help of a virtual synthesizer will control the expressiveness of the performance. In the third and fourth parts, viewers will hear real improvisation from the neural network in real time.
The performance will be complemented by the original art object "technomatryoshka", symbolizing the neuromusicant. The center of the installation will be SberBoom – a smart column with a virtual assistant "Salyut", which will clearly illustrate how deeply AI technologies have penetrated into the field of art and creativity.
