Emirates Airlines launches "polyglot" robots to check in passengers

Emirates plans to deploy around 200 multilingual robots at Dubai Airport to speed up passenger check-in, reduce queuing times and route more travelers through the world's busiest international hub.
The first "polyglots" will start working at check-in counters on local flights in the next two months. After testing, Emirates plans to deploy more than 200 robots to serve international passengers at Dubai Airport. The project will be implemented over the next two years, Emirates Chief Operating Officer Adel Al Redha told reporters.
“We are the first airline in the world to introduce and plan to introduce portable robotics for check-in. The robot is able to complete all your check-in processes, including issuing a boarding pass that will be sent to your registered number or email address, as well as performing facial recognition by scanning your passport. You will go through passport control and then through the gates or waiting lounges without having to re-submit documents,” Adel Al Redha said, according to the website of the air carrier.
Robots will be especially useful in passenger transfer and transit halls when flights are postponed or departure time changes, - the message speaks.
The authors of the project plan to further improve the technical data of electronic "workers" so that they can contact the immigration service and establish that the passenger has the necessary documents, including permission to enter the country - visas. In addition, digital employees will be able to offer hotel booking services.
