Leader of the Nation: Turkmen-Palestinian cooperation has prospects in many areas
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine Riyad al-Maliki on Thursday.
The guest expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the joy of meeting with the Turkmen capital, where great changes are taking place.
Riyad al-Maliki conveyed the words of the welcome message from President Mahmoud Abbas and invited the national leader of the Turkmen people to visit Palestine at a convenient time for him.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty stressed during the meeting that Turkmenistan remains faithful to its policy of developing equal cooperation with all interested countries, including Middle Eastern states.
During the exchange of views on the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Palestine, the sides noted with satisfaction that the coincidence or proximity of positions on the most important issues of international politics, especially in the field of ensuring global peace and sustainable development, open up additional prospects for strengthening Turkmen-Palestinian cooperation.
It was also noted that this serves as a good basis for supporting each other in joint work on international platforms, including at the UN. In the context of this topic, the Turkmen leader expressed gratitude to Palestine for supporting Turkmenistan's international initiatives.
An important aspect was identified as the development of industrial and trade partnership, as well as the establishment of direct relations between the business communities of both states.
The parties expressed their desire to develop mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular in the petrochemical and textile industries, agriculture, food production and processing, and in the digital sphere. Plans to strengthen cultural and humanitarian partnership were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties stressed their interest in the further development of bilateral relations and their prospects.
