Turkmen athletes will take part in the World Weightlifting Championship, which starts on September 4 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As an ORIENT correspondent was told in the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, the composition of the Turkmen delegation was formed by 22 people, including 15 athletes. The men's team included: Seyitjan Mirzaev (61 kg), Bunyad Rashidov (67 kg), Perkhat Bakhtiyarov (67 kg), Bektimur Reyimov (73 kg), Gaygysyz Toraev (81 kg), Maksad Meredov (81 kg), Shatlyk Shohradov (89 kg), Shahzadbek Matyakubov (96 kg), Davranbek Khasanbaev (102 kg), Hojamuhammet Toychiev (+109 kg).

In the women's category will perform: Yulduz Dzhumabayeva (49 kg), Kristina Shermetova (59 kg), Polina Guryeva (76 kg), Gulnabat Kadyrova (76 kg), Anamjan Rustamova (81 kg).

Yulduz Dzhumabayeva will be the first to enter the Saudi platform among Turkmen weightlifters. Her performance is scheduled for September 6th.

It should be noted that the Turkmen team was preparing for the World Championship in Minsk. The training camp in the capital of Belarus lasted from August 9 to September 2.

The World Championship in Riyadh, which will be held from 4 to 14 September, is one of the stages of the Olympic qualification. This competition will bring together over six hundred weightlifters of the planet from over a hundred countries to compete for places in the ranking that determines the participants in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
