The high-level "One Belt, One Road" summit will be held in Beijing in October
The third summit on international cooperation within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative will be held in Beijing in October. This was stated at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin.
"In October this year, China will host the third One Belt, One Road International Cooperation Summit in Beijing, which will become an important platform for the development of cooperation within the framework of this initiative," the Chinese diplomat said.
The main topic of the summit will be mutual communication. The initiative is aimed at creating a new platform for international economic cooperation. More than 150 countries and international organizations have already joined the initiative.
The "One Belt, One Road" program was initiated by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. It symbolically recreates the ancient Silk Road and its goal is China's entry into the markets of Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and other regions, as well as the activation of international trade and investment projects with the participation of more countries and the use of the capital of interested states.
The first "One Belt, One Road" forum was held in Beijing in 2017, the second in 2019. The top officials of China, Russia and 28 countries of Eurasia, Africa and Latin America participated.
