OIC congratulates the people of Turkmenistan on the successful parliamentary elections
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) posted today on its website Congratulatory message to the government and the people of Turkmenistan on the successful holding of the parliamentary elections on March 25, 2018, noting the openness of the electoral process at all its stages. The OIC Secretary-General, Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, expressed his high appreciation of the transparency and wide alternative of the elections, and underlined the high level of national harmony of the elections in Turkmenistan. He also praised the people of Turkmenistan, who voted in large numbers, expressing a high sense of responsibility and strong will of the people of Turkmenistan to contribute to the development and promotion of democracy in their country. It is worth noting that earlier, the OIC General Secretariat, headquarter of which is in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), dispatched a team of international experts to Turkmenistan to monitor the course of the election campaign and parliamentary elections following the invitation from the Government of Turkmenistan.
