The President of Turkmenistan discussed with the heads of regions the preparation for sowing wheat and harvesting cotton
Preparations for the upcoming grain sowing and the start of the cotton harvest became the key topic of the meeting, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held on Monday via videoconference with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister for Agro-Industrial Complex Tangryguly Atahallyev and heads of regions.
The heads of the agricultural sector reported on the situation at places, plowing and planning areas for winter crops, the readiness of field equipment and seeds for the upcoming sowing campaign.
At the same time, combine harvesters and trucks, reception centers and ginneries are undergoing technical checks for the mass harvest of cotton, which was also reported to the president, the evening newscast of the Turkmen State Radio and Television reported.
In addition, planting potatoes and other fruit and vegetable crops and caring for seedlings continue on agricultural land. In the Dashoguz and Lebap regions, seasonal work is underway in rice farms, and in Mary - in beet fields.
After listening to the reports, Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to each leader, demanding that he personally control all organizational issues of grain sowing in order to carry it out qualitatively and in accordance with the calendar schedule, as well as to prepare all links of the cotton harvest campaign. At the same time, it is necessary not to reduce attention to the tasks of growing other crops, the president said.
