The meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Issues was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan


Under the leadership of Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Ashgabat, according to the official website of the country's foreign ministry.
The meeting was also attended by other members of the Government and representatives of various ministries and departments related to the Caspian Sea.
The main topic of the meeting was the Commission's Work Plan for 2023, which provides for a number of measures aimed at strengthening cooperation with the Caspian states in various fields. The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the main events planned to be held in the near future.
Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of good-neighborly relations and partnership with the Caspian States based on the principles of equality, respect and mutual benefit. Turkmenistan is also actively involved in the implementation of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, which was signed by the leaders of the five Caspian littoral countries in Aktau (Kazakhstan) in 2018. This document defines the rules for the use of the Caspian Sea and its resources, as well as regulates cooperation in the field of environmental protection, navigation, fishing and other areas.
