Turkmen musicians will take part in the opening of the Caspian Seasons – 2023 festival in Astrakhan
The opening ceremony of the International Festival of Classical Art "Caspian Seasons – 2023" will be held in Astrakhan on Tuesday. The concert program will be attended by leading performers from the Caspian states - Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.
The festival starts in the evening on the Cathedral Square of the Astrakhan Kremlin. There will be a grand concert in the format of a multimedia show - accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Caspian States under the direction of Mikhail Golikov will be performed by recognized masters of the opera scene – Russian opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, People's Artist of Azerbaijan Elchin Azizov, young Turkmen star Leyli Okdirova, tenor Nurlan Bekmukhambetov, Iranian musician Mehdi Hosseini and other famous artists.
The organizers promise that every festival day will be eventful and rich in impressions. The program will continue on August 24 with the performance of the Youth Symphony Orchestra. The musicians will play works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov. Then the Astrakhan Philharmonic will become the concert venue, where the best performers of the Caspian region will sing from August 25 to 28.
On the same days, "Azerbaijan Day", "Iran Day", "Kazakhstan Day" and "Turkmenistan Day" will be held on August 28. The country will be represented at the concert by People's Artist Atageldy Garyagdiyev, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, pianist Vladimir Mkrtumov and the creative team of "Camerata Ashgabat" under the artistic direction of Bahram Dolyev.
Open–air concerts will be the decoration of the festival - Mikhail Glinka's opera Ivan Susanin will be presented outside the walls of the Astrakhan Kremlin. And on the big stage of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater there will be a musical concert "Denis Matsuev presents: dialogue of generations" with the participation of the People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev and artists of different generations – from recognized masters to young winners of prestigious international competitions.
The "Caspian Seasons – 2023" will end on September 6 with the ballet festival. Prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Svetlana Zakharova will perform on the stage of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater, according to the website of the festival organizers.
