Modernization of SCO was discussed in Almaty


The first meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states opened on Monday in Almaty. The four-day event is held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, according to the official website of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
“The agenda includes a wide range of issues related to the implementation of adopted and the preparation of new decisions of the Councils of Heads of State, Heads of Government and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States, the modernization of the Organization, including taking into account the expansion of its composition,” the message says.
The meeting participants will also consider issues of improving interaction with observer states, SCO dialogue partners and international organizations.
The forum will run until 24 August.
