Timur Bekmambetov will develop a new genre of cinema in Kazakhstan

Famous film director Timur Bekmambetov intends to develop the Kazakh film industry and create a new cinema language in the genre of screenlife — life on the screen, telling about digital life. He shared his ideas and projects with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with whom a meeting was held, the press service of Akorda reports.
Tokayev and Bekmambetov discussed issues of training specialists in the creative industry, ways to increase Kazakhstan's film content and support cinematographers.
The director told the president about the projects he implemented in foreign countries to retrain teachers, actors, artists and other specialists into professionals of the digital creative industry.
"I believe that everywhere, even in the farthest corners of the country, there are talented people who just need to be helped to believe in themselves and move towards their dreams. We hope that my company and I will be able to do a lot in Kazakhstan to develop the language of cinema, which we call screen life. This is a new genre that tells about our digital life," Bekmambetov said.
Timur Bekmambetov became famous in 2004 after the release of the fantastic epic "Night Watch". Later in 2008, he directed the action movie "Especially Dangerous" starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman and was awarded the "International Director of the Year 2012" award by the National Association of Cinematographers.
