The UN World Food Program supports the initiatives of Turkmenistan


Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tokyo, Atadurdy Bayramov, met on Wednesday with Director of the UN World Food Program's office for relations with Japan, Yasuhiro Tsumura.
During the meeting, the Ambassador informed the WFP representative about the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly aimed at maintaining peace and security, as well as achieving sustainable development goals. Among them is the proposal of Turkmenistan to convene under the auspices of the UN, in cooperation with WFP, WHO, UNICEF, a major international forum on food security.
Yasuhiro Tsumura expressed support for the regional and global initiatives of Turkmenistan, emphasizing the readiness of the Organization to assist in their promotion.
The UN World Food Program is the world's largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food aid to pave the way for peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disaster and the effects of climate change.
