The official website of World Athletics (International Athletics Federation) announced a prize of $ 100 thousand for each athlete who will break the world record at the upcoming World Championships.

Payments for men's disciplines will be made by the Japanese electronic company TDK, and for women's — the Inside Track platform, supported by the International Athletics Federation.

At the same time, only those athletes who set a new world record, and do not repeat the existing one, will receive prizes. Payments for the 4x400 m mixed relay in case of a record will be provided by both TDK and Inside Track.

It is also reported that TDK logos will be placed on the numbers of all men who will participate in the World Cup, and the logos of the new official partner of World Athletics, NTN, will be placed on the numbers of women. In addition to payments for athletes who have broken world records, a prize fund of $ 8,498,000 will be distributed at the Budapest World Cup.

For individual gold, athletes will receive $ 70 thousand, for silver — $ 35 thousand, for bronze — $ 22 thousand, for fourth place — $ 16 thousand, for fifth — $ 11 thousand, for sixth — $ 7 thousand, for seventh — $ 6 thousand, for eighth — $ 5 thousand.

In the relay races, each team will receive the following amounts for all: for the first place — $ 80 thousand, for the second — $ 40 thousand, for the third — $ 20 thousand, for the fourth — $ 16 thousand, for the fifth — $ 12 thousand, for the sixth — $ 8 thousand, for the seventh — $ 6 thousand, for the eighth — $ 4 thousand.

From August 19 to 27, Budapest will host competitions in which about 2,000 athletes from 200 teams will take part.
