Ashgabat to host screening of short films by Turkmen directors for 48HFR contest


Directors and film lovers from Turkmenistan who submitted their works to the 48 Hour Film Race competition will hold a screening of short films in Ashgabat.
The film show will give viewers the opportunity to get to know modern Turkmen cinematography, communicate with young directors and actors, as well as inspire themselves to participate in the 48HFR competition next year.
The show is organized by the Go Viral community in Turkmenistan. Experienced Turkmen director Erkin Yazov, bloggers, representatives of the US Embassy in Turkmenistan, Go Viral Ambassador and others will take part in it.
In total, 18 short films on various topics will be presented to the audience. Each of them was filmed and edited by a separate team in 48 hours, taking into account a number of conditions of the competition. For example, films had to be made in a certain genre and with the participation of an obligatory character - this year it was a clown.
During the breaks between viewing, it will be possible to ask the participants interesting questions, discuss the meaning of short films, technical details.
The screening will take place on August 19 from 18:00 to 20:00 at the American Center in Ashgabat at the address: st. Andalib (former Mir), building 70 (International Business Center), 3rd floor. Free admission.
The 48 Hour Film Race is taking place in 2023 for the 8th time. Professional and amateur teams from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan take part in it. This year, the winners of the competition will be able to study free of charge at the New York Film Academy.
