A team of swimmers from Turkmenistan laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Brest Fortress


The national team of swimmers from Turkmenistan, which is a participant in the competitions of the II Games of the CIS countries, visited the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex on the eve of the competition.
The staff of the complex conducted an excursion for the delegation, introducing them to the history of the construction of the citadel over the Bug (pronounced [bʊg])and the main events of its heroic defense, BelTA reports. The athletes laid flowers at the Eternal Flame of the memorial and honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
In addition to Turkmen athletes, representatives of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the event. The vast majority of the guests were here for the first time and were very impressed by what they saw and heard.
In their free time from the competition, the participants of the Games will be given the opportunity to visit other attractions of the region.
It should be noted that David Akopyan, Selim Nazarov, Aynura Merdanova and Ejesh Primova will compete for medals in swimming competitions on behalf of Turkmenistan.
