The delegation of the International Kurash Association assessed the degree of readiness of Turkmenistan to host the World Cup


A meeting was held in Ashgabat between the delegation of the IKA (International Kurash Association) and representatives of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the preparation for the upcoming World Championship in this belt wrestling.
During the visit, the IKA delegation consisting of the Secretary General and Technical Director of the International Kurash Association Mohammad Reza Nassiri Nejat (Iran), the head of the IKA Judging Committee Ravi Kapoor (India) and the head of the administration of the International Kurash Association Mansur Mirzayev (Uzbekistan) visited the Olympic Town, in the martial arts sports complex of which the World Championship will be held, and got acquainted with the conditions its implementation.
During the meeting, organizational work was presented and issues related to the championship were considered, as well as further steps to prepare for the world-class tournament were determined. All those present expressed satisfaction with the meeting and hope for the successful holding of the tournament.
In addition, IKA representatives noted that the Olympic Town with its modern technically equipped infrastructure is able to host the world championship at a high level.
As ORIENT previously reported, the Kurash World Championship will be held in Ashgabat on November 23-28, 2023.
The corresponding resolution was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The document prescribes the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports to develop and approve, in coordination with the International Kurash Association, the regulations on the championship.
The competitions will be held on the basis of the martial arts complex of the Olympic Town of the Turkmen capital.
