Turkmen athletes took part in the opening ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries
Athletes of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries, which took place at the “Minsk-Arena” in the capital of Belarus. The honor to become the flag bearer fell to freestyle wrestler Zyyamukhammed Saparov, who is the bronze medalist of the 2017 World Championship and the 2023 Asian champion.
More than 1,200 artists, volunteers, singers and athletes took part in the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony started with the traditional countdown, after which its participants demonstrated a mass prologue dance to the song "Time of the Strong and Courageous".
The start of the games was given by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
At the end of the official part, a part of the performance called "Strong character - bright game" started, which is the slogan of the competition. After the song of the same name, the traditional parade of athletes began in the arena. The entry of each country was accompanied by a national dance prepared by Belarusian artists - a total of 22 numbers.
After the parade, the host cities were introduced to the audience.
Three-time bronze medalist of the world championships in rhythmic gymnastics Anastasia Salos, multiple world and European champion in sambo Yury Rybak, and gymnast Alexandra Zubovich took part in the lighting ceremony.
The closing ceremony of the competition will be held in Minsk on August 13.
