Tsukuba University in Japan opens Turkmen language courses


One of the leading Japanese universities - the University of Tsukuba, which actively cooperates with universities of Turkmenistan, opens Turkmen language courses for Japanese and foreign students from September 2023.
Classes on the study of the Turkmen language, acquaintance with the culture of Turkmenistan will be conducted by researcher Masahiro Oku.
Masahiro Oku is the co-author of the Japanese–Turkmen phrasebook, prepared jointly with Jennet Rozykuluyeva, a graduate of the Japanese Language Faculty of the D.Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The textbook was published in July 2023 as part of a project to promote the Turkmen language in Japan.
Also, within the framework of the Human Resources Development Project in Central Asia and Japan of the Nippon Foundation, Professor of the University of Tsukuba Toshinobu Usuyama and Masahiro Oku gave lectures on various topics for students of the Faculty of Japanese Language of the D.Azadi TNIWL, including comparative analysis of Japanese and Turkmen languages, a press release of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry says.
