Turkmenistan won a historical medal at the II Games of the CIS countries


Weightlifter Yulduz Dzhumabayeva became the first representative in the history of Turkmenistan to win a medal at the Games of the CIS countries.
Turkmen athlete Yulduz Dzhumabayeva won a silver medal in the weight category up to 49 kg at the II Games of the CIS countries, which started on August 4 in Belarus. This was reported to an ORIENT correspondent by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan.
According to the results of two disciplines, the 2018 World Champion and the winner of the Asian Championship among juniors showed the result - 161 kg (71+90), losing the first line to Elizaveta Zhatkina from Russia, who took the total weight of 171 kg (77+94). Vietnamese representative Thi Ngoc Anh Do took the third position - 148 kg (68+80).

It should be noted that Turkmenistan, as part of a delegation of 110 people, takes part in this tournament for the first time.
About 80 athletes will represent the country in 13 sports, the main part of which is martial arts - boxing, Thai boxing, karate, judo, sambo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, as well as athletics and weightlifting, 3x3 basketball (men), bullet shooting and from a bow.
It is expected that the competition will bring together more than 6 thousand people, including 4 thousand athletes, 900 coaches and 800 judges. The multisport forum of the CIS countries will be held in 11 cities of Belarus.
