A meeting of the intergovernmental commission on the demarcation of the Turkmen-Uzbek border is being prepared


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree approving the composition of the Turkmen part of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border.
Earlier it was reported that the working groups of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan finalized and agreed on draft regulatory and technical documents for the demarcation of the Uzbek-Turkmen state border, which will be submitted to the above-mentioned commission during its next meeting in 2023.
The Turkmen-Uzbek border has a length of more than 1,620 km and runs along the borders of the Dashoguz and Lebap regions of Turkmenistan.
For reference: Delimitation is the establishment of the state border line by agreement with neighbors and drawing this line on the map, demarcation is the drawing of the state border line on the ground on the basis of an agreement.
