The Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan will be held on September 29 in Kazan


A new meeting of the Moscow format on Afghanistan will be held on September 29 in Kazan. This was reported to TASS by the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan, Director of the second Department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zamir Kabulov.
According to him, the topic of inclusiveness of the interim Taliban government will be the main one at the upcoming meeting. "That's why we are going to continue our work," Kabulov said. He added that the meeting will also discuss the fight against terrorism and drug crime.
The Taliban delegation, as Kabulov pointed out, confirmed participation in the meeting. According to him, about half of the participants of the format have also confirmed their participation.
The previous meeting of the Moscow format on Afghanistan was held in November last year in Moscow. The format was created in 2017 with the aim of promoting the process of national reconciliation in Afghanistan. It includes Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
