Issues of trade and economic relations were among the key issues at the Summit of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, held in Ashgabat on August 4. The Joint Statement of the Presidents following the meeting confirmed the priority of strengthening and expanding economic partnership between the countries based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and consideration of each other's interests.

To help increase trade, the parties agreed to create new methods and mechanisms for cooperation using the capabilities of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the private sector of the three states. At the same time, the need for further development of border trade was noted.

During the summit, attention was paid to the development of industrial and industrial cooperation, including the creation of joint ventures in the textile, chemical, construction and other industries.

It was also about giving impetus to cooperation in the field of food security and agriculture. For these purposes, it is planned to systematically develop ties through the agro-industrial complexes of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which will increase the volume and expand the supply of agricultural products and food to the markets of other countries.
