One more vessel of the national fleet was repaired at the Balkan ship repair and shipbuilding plant
In the near future, it is planned to put into operation the tanker "Atamyrat Nyýazow". This vessel for the transportation of oil and petroleum products with a gross capacity of 4260 tons (GT) was built in 2001. The repair of this vessel was almost completely carried out by local specialists. The launch of this tanker will contribute to the growth of exports of domestic petroleum products.
Since the beginning of 2019 and up to now, the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship repair plant has successfully carried out work on more than 80 vessels of various types, including both vessels of the National Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan and vessels of foreign companies.
Prior to the opening of the new modern shipbuilding and ship repair plant "Balkan", work on the repair of ships of the national fleet was carried out at the shipyards of the Caspian countries. Currently, the Balkan plant provides ship construction and ship repair work, which saves a significant amount of time.
The process of repairing ships at foreign shipyards can be an expensive and time- consuming procedure, and the use of a local factory reduces the delivery time and speeds up the assembly process. Due to its efficiency, the Balkan plant ensures faster completion of projects, which contributes to increased competitiveness in the shipbuilding industry market. This attracts customers and contributes to further development.
Also, the Balkan plant allows you to reduce the cost of building ships, since it has affordable technical potential and labor. This contributes to a more efficient use of the budget and makes construction prices more attractive to customers. In addition, the plant pays attention to the training and advanced training of local specialists.
The production characteristics of the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant represent a potential capable of ensuring efficient construction and repair of ships using modern technologies that meet international standards. The plant has the ability to process 10 thousand tons of steel annually, which makes it possible to build from 4 to 6 ships per year. In addition, the plant is capable of repairing up to 20-30 vessels annually, while processing 2 thousand tons of steel.
The process of ship construction includes all stages, starting from the acceptance of materials, pre-processing and assembly and ending with the launching of the vessel. The plant has all the necessary infrastructure that allow it to successfully implement the most complex and large-scale projects in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair.
The total area of the plant is 166 thousand square meters, which provides enough space for the production and repair of vessels of various types and sizes.
Currently, in order to develop the national merchant marine fleet at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant, it is planned to establish work on the construction of various types of vessels in the shortest possible time.
