One more cargo route has been opened under the China–Central Asia program

A train loaded with more than 1,500 tons of goods such as mattresses, baby products, ceramic tiles, etc., recently departed from the international land port in Guiyang city of Guizhou Province in Southwest China, which marked the official opening of a direct freight rail link between this region of China and Central Asia, Xinhua reports.
According to the report, multimodal transportation of cargo containers under the auto-railway-auto scheme is used throughout the route. The train route will pass through the Khorgos checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and eventually arrive in the Kazakh city of Almaty. It will take about 11 days to travel in one direction. On the way back, the train will transport 1,300 tons of agricultural products from Kazakhstan to Guiyang.
The launch of the new route made it possible for the first time to realize the railway delivery of goods of various categories from Guizhou to Central Asia, thus, this route offered the possibility of large-scale development of the CA market by manufacturers of Guizhou - one of the rapidly developing regions of China.
China has invested US$ 3.06 billion and implemented 37,600 scientific and technological projects in Guizhou in order to provide powerful support in transforming the driving forces of development, increasing production efficiency and improving the living standards of the masses.
