The information campaign of the Red Crescent of Turkmenistan has reached about a million people
The information campaign of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) to highlight the implementation of a joint project with UNDP on psychosocial support for patients reached an audience of one million people. The Miras TV channel acted as a platform for the project, which is supported by the Global Fund.
The public awareness campaign was massively carried out in the national media, including on radio and television. It was dedicated to the World No Tobacco Day, the dangers of smoking and its negative impact on the human body.
This is reported by the chairman of the NRCST Maral Achilova in his article for the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan". According to the head of the Society, all the events aimed at raising awareness among the population. Only visitors to the Red Crescent website reached the mark of 156 thousand people per month.
Within the framework of the NRCST Strategy for 2021-2025, it is planned to improve the quality of social health programs, which meets the main goal of the Society — strengthening the organizational capacity to provide appropriate and relevant services to the population through humanitarian activities.
Currently, the NRCST is a member of the State interdepartmental commission of Turkmenistan on emergency response and Security, as well as interdepartmental coordinating committees of National health programs. Its members are 250 thousand people across the country and about three thousand volunteers.
