Residents of Dubai are now feasting on Turkmen strawberries

Sweet, fragrant strawberries grown in Turkmenistan are now on sale in Dubai. Entrepreneur Batyr Ravshanov sent the first batch of ripe berries to the United Arab Emirates, and the second harvest to neighboring Uzbekistan.
As reported on the website of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the choice of the businessman fell on the variety of strawberries "Alibon", recognized as one of the best commercial varieties in terms of the totality of its qualities. It is American breeders that brought out these red and shiny oblong berries. The pulp is fragrant, juicy and bright pink in color with a slight strawberry aroma. In greenhouse conditions, it bears fruit throughout the warm season, until frost.
The strawberry cluster is located in the Akhal region. Every day, 1-1.5 tons of fragrant berries are harvested in greenhouses. With proper storage and proper transportation, the Albion harvest retains its presentation for up to 10 days. A Turkmen entrepreneur sends goods abroad on specialized trucks equipped with refrigerators for long-distance transportation.
During the season, strawberries ripen in 3-4 waves, and the peak of fruiting occurs in August. The Turkmen businessman planned the next export shipments to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
In the future, other varieties of this berry will also be grown in greenhouses. For example, exotic white strawberries and other varieties that grow well in the climatic conditions of Turkmenistan will soon appear on Turkmen shelves.
