Turkmenistan is discussing with partners the expansion of the Trans-Caspian trade route

Turkmenistan is taking part in the event on the expansion of the Trans-Caspian Trade Route, which takes place in Tbilisi (Georgia).
The Turkmen delegation included representatives of the country's Transport and Logistics Center, the International Seaport in Turkmenbashi, and the NGO "Demirellary".
The event was organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce as part of the regional project to expand the Trans-Caspian Trade Route (TCTR).
Within two days, the participants will discuss the recommendations of the first meeting of the project, which took place in March 2023, and get acquainted with the map of the main trade routes. Delegates will also listen to the initiatives of international organizations to promote the development of the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.
The TCTR project contributes to the achievement of the goals of the C5+1 Diplomatic Platform for the development of economic interconnectedness in the region. Its purpose is to develop recommendations for the best scenarios of trade routes among the participating representatives of the private sector from Central Asian countries, as well as Georgia and Azerbaijan; to ensure the harmonization of customs and border crossing procedures, to facilitate the dialogue of stakeholders and to facilitate the exchange of ideas on a coordinated regional approach to the expansion of the Trans—Caspian Trade Route.
On March 5-7, 2023, the first meeting on the Trans-Caspian Trade Route took place in Batumi (Georgia). Particular attention was paid during the meeting to the opportunities of the private sector for effective scenarios of multimodal trade routes. As a result of the discussions, the participants developed and adopted 14 recommendations.
