"Turkmenfilm" will take part in the festival of new cinema of Russia and neighboring countries
The Turkmenfilm Association will take part in the IV International Festival of New Cinema of Russia and Neighboring Countries (Lendoc Film Festival), which will be held on August 25-29 in St. Petersburg. The information was confirmed to ORIENT correspondent by representatives of the Turkmen film studio.
The event will bring together cinematographers from the CIS countries, as well as Argentina, India, and Iran. Within the framework of the festival, screenings of 30 films, concerts, master classes and pitching projects of joint production by young directors of Russia and friendly countries are planned.
The purpose of the festival is to introduce viewers to rare and unique films of the participating countries and establish a dialogue between viewers and filmmakers, giving impetus to young filmmakers who will be able to find partners for the filming process and producers to finance their projects.
So, pitching is a public presentation and defense of film projects before the expert council with the expectation of attracting investors and partners interested in the implementation of the film project.
Participants of the pitching of joint film projects of the CIS countries-2023 will undergo a free educational intensive on co-production. Leading experts of the film industry will tell cinematographers about the intricacies of financing, international postproduction, and also share the skills of project presentation.
The speakers will talk about funds and grants for co-production projects, the specifics of production and the formation of a film crew from different countries, share their experience in organizing production in the post-filming period and reveal the secrets of self-presentation, which will help draw attention to the project of the producers of the "big" cinema.
