Dubai hotels will be recognized for their efforts in the field of sustainable tourism


Dubai hotels will be awarded gold, silver and bronze stamps for their efforts to develop sustainable tourism in the emirate.
The Dubai Sustainable Tourism Brand will serve as a confirmation of the commitment of a hotel of any class to the principles of sustainable development and demonstrate its methods of achieving carbon neutrality.
To receive a distinctive sign, hotels must meet 19 requirements for sustainable development. Among the requirements are the efficiency of energy and water use, waste management, initiatives for training and staff involvement.
The nomination of hotel establishments for the "Dubai Sustainable Tourism Brand" will begin on August 3 and will end on August 31.
The initiative of the Department of Economy and Tourism is designed to strengthen Dubai's position as a leading destination for sustainable tourism.
"This initiative, supported by the dynamically developing Dubai hotel industry, is a strategic step towards achieving our goal of making Dubai a leading destination for travelers from all over the world seeking to get the maximum experience of sustainable development," commented Yusuf Luta, Acting Director General of the Corporate Strategy and Efficiency Department of the Department of Economy and Tourism.
