Oil production at the Goturdepe field increased by 10% in six months

The directory of the state concern "Turkmennebit", responsible for oil production at the Goturdepe field, increased the production of black gold by 10% in the first six months of this year, bringing this figure to more than half a million tons of raw materials.
The over-planned 10,125 tons of oil were extracted due to the introduction of new methods of extraction and operation of modern technologies into drilling operations, the newspaper "Turkmenistan" reports.
In addition to its large oil reserves, the field is known for the presence of gas deposits. According to the results of six months of this year, the company's specialists were able to extract about 216 million cubic meters of natural gas, exceeding the planned mark by 7%.
Goturdepe, a rich oil and gas field located near Balkanabad, is considered one of the "oldest" in Turkmenistan — the first drilling rig appeared here in 1948. Industrial development of local deposits began in the 1960s, and 13 years ago the Northern Goturdepe field was discovered, whose reserves are estimated at 20 million tons of oil.
