All kittens and puppies – to the registration: chipping of pets has begun in Kazakhstan

Clinics in Kazakhstan have started chipping pets. All dogs and cats must be registered by September 1. If the owner refuses to install the chip, he may be fined, Kazinform MIA reports.
Chipping is the electronic identification of animals, which is the implantation of a microchip under the skin of an animal containing a unique individual 15-digit number, it remains with the animal throughout its life. The first three digits are the Kazakhstan ISO 398 code, then there is 01 for dogs, then there are individual numbers.
According to experts, the accounting of pets will allow for effective planning of preventive measures: vaccination against rabies, deworming, and will also allow you to know the exact number of animals in the city. In the future, this information will become the basis for obtaining veterinary certificates and veterinary documents when exporting animals outside the country.
Data about the "tails" and owners in the form of a unique code is entered into the city database "Pet Control". If the pet gets lost, the police or veterinarians will be able to scan the chip. The database will display the last name, first name, phone number and address of the owner.
To date, 136,246 pets have been registered in Kazakhstan, including 90,035 dogs and 46,319 cats.
