Turkmenistan has started exporting strawberries to the UAE
Batyr Ravshanov, a Turkmen entrepreneur from the Ak Bugday district of the Ahal region, has established the export of strawberries to the United Arab Emirates. The first batches of Albion berries have already arrived in Dubai, the newspaper "Rysgal" reports.
These days, local private agricultural firms collect up to one and a half tons of strawberries from the fields of the district. Lots of the summer harvest were also sent to neighboring Uzbekistan. For more efficient transportation, refrigerators were installed to store the product.
As the local businessman noted, farmers are currently working to establish stable exports to neighboring republics, in particular to Kazakhstan. The region is actively developing and enriching new lands for berry crops.
