TAP to increase gas supplies

The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline Consortium (TAP), which is designed to transport natural gas from the Caspian Sea and the Middle East to Western Europe, has begun work on increasing the supply of blue fuel. This is reported by Trend with reference to the company TAP AG.
"TAP will add one compressor unit (about 15 MW) to the existing compressor station in Kipoi, Greece, and modernize the equipment there," TAP AG explained.
Construction work is already underway, which includes the preparation of new tie-ins at the compressor station.
Previously, TAP Managing Director Luca Sciepatti, the design of TAP and the Southern Gas Corridor as a whole allows doubling the capacity to 20 billion cubic meters per year due to additional compressor units and stations.
TAP is the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor. It annually supplies eight billion cubic meters of gas to Italy and one billion cubic meters of gas each to Greece and Bulgaria.
