Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin Pyo on Friday. The guest arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit as the head of a representative delegation of South Korea.
At the beginning of the meeting, Kim Jin Pyo expressed gratitude to Serdar Berdimuhamedov for granting him a high-level award – the Order of "Bitaraplyk", assuring of his intention to further promote the development of the Turkmen-Korean partnership.
In the architecture of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Korea, the interaction of legislative bodies has become the foundation of interstate relations, the meeting said. Mutual visits at a high parliamentary level play an important role in this process. Such an example is the visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea in November 2022 and the current visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, the participants of the meeting noted.
Touching upon the topic of trade and economic cooperation, the parties called the fruitful partnership of Turkmenistan with leading Korean companies participating today in the largest projects of the gas chemical, transport and other promising sectors of the country indicative.
The sides also discussed cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural fields. The spheres of education and tourism were called promising and having great potential for the countries. The development of these directions will benefit the Turkmen and Korean peoples and strengthen the bonds of friendship, it was noted at the meeting.
