Serdar Berdimuhamedov put forward a number of proposals for cooperation between the GCC+CA


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the summit of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf with the countries of Central Asia (GCC+CA) on Wednesday, said that the difficult international political situation requires joining efforts and making the necessary decisions.

In this context, the Head of Turkmenistan put forward a number of proposals to expand cooperation between the GCC countries and Central Asia. Among these proposals , the Arab media highlighted the following:
— Creation of a permanent mechanism – Meetings of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries and the GCC;
— creation of a special transport committee for the formation of new transport and transit corridors, reliable logistics infrastructure;
— creation of a Joint Working Group on Energy to analyze the possibilities of collective activity in this area and provide advice on this issue;
— Creation of the Chamber of Commerce of Central Asia and the GCC in order to develop trade relations and increase the volume of trade turnover.
Turkmenistan is open to cooperation in the implementation of investment projects in priority sectors of the economy, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, proposing to hold the first investment forum in Turkmenistan specifically for the countries of Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2024.

The President of Turkmenistan also suggested considering the possibility of creating a new platform in this format for cultural and humanitarian dialogue, an environmental council, holding a medical conference for Central Asian countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Ashgabat in 2025, as well as organizing international sports games of the GCC and Central Asia and Turkmenistan's readiness to hold this event and create the best conditions for the participants of the games, providing them with modern infrastructure, writes the online newspaper Sabq.
The summit meeting held on July 19 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the first time in such a format, was attended by the leaders of the Council member countries and Central Asian States - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Secretary General of the GCC.
