Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan want to jointly host football tournaments


The heads of football associations of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan considered the possibility of holding joint tournaments of international level, including the championship among teams of different age categories.
The meeting was held in Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, Kabar news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU). It was attended by Chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Aynazarov, head of the KFU Mederbek Sydykov, head of the Kazakhstan Football Federation Adlet Barmenkulov and First Vice-President of the Football Association of Uzbekistan Ravshan Irmatov.

The sides exchanged views on plans for the development of cooperation, the main aspects of joint projects, as well as prospects for improving infrastructure, strengthening human resources and providing the necessary funding.
As a result of the meeting, the signing of a protocol of intent was agreed, which will serve as the basis for the formation of a working group whose task will be to work on improving the dynamics of football development in the Turkic-speaking countries of Central Asia.
"During the meeting, all the heads of the associations expressed their desire and willingness to bring cooperation to a new level," the KFU commented on the results of the meeting.
