The head of the South Korean Parliament addressed the Mejlis of Turkmenistan
Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin Pyo, during his visit to Ashgabat, met on Thursday with the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, discussing with her the development of inter-parliamentary ties in the context of bilateral partnership.
Then the head of the Korean parliament addressed the deputies of the Mejlis. He noted his country's commitment to dialogue with Turkmenistan and the implementation of the agreements reached. A meeting with Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who visited Seoul last November, is of particular importance in the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, Jin Phe said.
The Speaker called for the active involvement of parliamentary cooperation mechanisms in the expansion of interstate trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural contacts and the promotion of joint projects.
Kim Jin Pyo called on parliamentarians to use new opportunities through intensive dialogue to bring the two countries closer together for the development and well-being of their peoples.
