The Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea was awarded the Order of Turkmenistan "Bitaraplyk"
The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin Pyo, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of his country's delegation.
The meeting was held at the Palace of Congresses, where, after the official welcoming part, negotiations were held with the participation of members of the delegations of the two countries, during which topical areas of Turkmen-Korean cooperation were considered.
Then there was a solemn ceremony of awarding the Order of Turkmenistan "Bitaraplyk" to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin Pyo.
By the decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the South Korean Parliament was awarded this high award for his services in the development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts between the two countries, strengthening the bonds of friendship between their peoples.
The document, which was read out at the ceremony, notes Kim Jin Pyo's great personal contribution to raising the international prestige and development of Turkmenistan's parliamentary diplomacy through active support of its neutrality policy in the Eurasian region and at the global level.
The order was presented by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The event was broadcast on the evening edition of the national television news.
