Turkmenistan has submitted to the UN the second Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the SDGs

The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy of the country Serdar Jorayev presented the second Voluntary National Review on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at the High-level Forum at the UN headquarters in New York.
The report presented Turkmenistan's successful experience in countering the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the measures taken during the emergency situation, the country managed not only to maintain the accumulated economic growth rates, but also to increase macroeconomic indicators, the document says.
In addition to the reporting goals, the report reflected six additional SDGs: quality and inclusive education, health, food security, improving human well-being, gender equality and environmental protection.
The delegation also presented the process of improving the institutional framework for the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as an assessment of strategic policy documents for the integration of the SDGs.
The report notes that Turkmenistan has maintained a high level (85%) of adapting the objectives of the 2030 Agenda into national programs, strategies and action plans. This ensured the continuity of SDG implementation in completed and newly adopted country programs.
After the report was completed, the participants could ask questions of the delegation of Turkmenistan and express their comments on the presentation.
