In Ashgabat, they discussed how to increase the interest of young people in libraries using the Internet

The use of the Internet and the creation of electronic libraries to increase the interest of young people in books became the topic of the conference, which was held in the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" writes.
Library staff and other specialists in the field of education and culture gathered on one platform to exchange experiences and share views on the further development of librarianship in Turkmenistan and the world as a whole.
The speakers outlined their vision of how to attract more young people to libraries not only physically, but also digitally — through the creation of special websites and forums on interests. So young people will be able to get acquainted with the activities of libraries remotely, learn about the appearance of new books, as well as communicate with other users, exchange opinions about what they have read, consult on various issues.
The key conclusion from the speeches of the participants can be made as follows: new technologies are the key to the development of librarianship. And the more actively libraries introduce electronic innovations into their activities, the more often they update their digital resources, the more popular they will be able to win among a young audience.
