Turkmen chess players lead the Asian Championship among schoolchildren
At the 17th Asian Chess Championship among Schoolchildren held in Tashkent on July 15 and 16, the first four rounds of competitions with classical time regulations were held.
In the categories among girls under 13 and under 15, the sole leaders are representatives of Turkmenistan - Mahri Agamuradova (3.5 points out of 4 possible) and Gulmira Seyilhanova (4 out of 4).
In both categories, they are pursued by a large group of rivals with 3 points representing Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, India, Kazakhstan and Russia. Mahri and Gulmira are pupils of sports school №13 of Turkmenabat.
Lala Shohradova, who won silver in rapid the day before in the under-17 category (G17), is still in the "classic" after 4 rounds, going to the 4th position with 3 points. Aya Bayramova, who also represents the Lebap region, takes third place in the G9 category with 3 points. In the girls' categories, our country is also represented by the champions Nebahat Muradova (G11, 2 points) and Enejan Charygeldiyeva (G7, 1 point, both from Lebap).
Boys, including Amanmuhammed Hommadov (U17, Ashgabat), Sanjar Gaybullayev (U15, Turkmenabat), Ali Ahmedov (U13, Ashgabat), Alihan Batyrov (Mary, U11), Omarbek Ismailov (U9, Dashoguz) and Seyran Ibragimov (U7, Turkmenabat) we started less successfully. So far, only Sanjar, Ali, Alihan and Omarbek can boast a 50 percent indicator (2 out of 4). Amanmuhammed and Seyran have 1.5 points each.
The tournament with the classic rules consists of 9 rounds and will last until July 19. In the classic, each player is given 90 minutes for the entire game with the addition of 30 seconds for each turn. The championship will end on July 20 with a blitz (lightning chess) tournament.
In total, 330 chess players from 17 countries of the Asian region and the Australian continent participate in the championship, including such chess powers as India, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia.
