The XXVII international festival of culture and art "Gorkut Ata" is taking place in the Turkish city of Bayburt.

Creative teams, painters, representatives of academic circles, media from Turkey and Central Asian countries take part in it.

Within the framework of the festival, which will last until July 23, exhibitions, concerts, tasting dishes of the Turkic peoples, demonstrations of folk games, scientific conferences, poetry evenings are held.

By tradition, participants visit the Gorkut Ata mausoleum in the village of Mashhad.

The Gorkut Ata International Festival of Culture and Art has been held since 1994. According to legend, the Gorkut ata mausoleum is located in the city of Bayburt.

In 2018, the heritage of Gorkut Ata was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
